This one took me a while. Lot of experimenting with it. Mostly with lighting.
Anyway, this is a picture about Kai's shop. You can buy clothing, tools, weapons, and even get equipment repaired. Kai's prices are reasonable, usefully involving trading herbs and other precious material's suck as silk, gold, silver, etc, to shop through her goods and services.
Here, Vane's specialized weapons somehow got damaged while Relina was away. Luckily, Melika knew just where to go! To one of her "friends", the one and only Kai. After talking a look at the craftsmanship, Kai was able to understand the way it was all put together. However, the only material she had on hand to repair the blades with was her own scales she had not yet gotten her resupply of normal metal's. After explaining that she could repair the weapon's with her own scales instead of typical metal, the weight of the blades would more than double, but also would be much harder to damage in the future. Getting the okay to go ahead, Kai repaired the weapons, replacing the actual blades with ones made of her own scales.
Anyway, that's the story I'm using for an excuse to draw this, and I'm sticking to it! So there!!

Oh boy. If Kain knew that Kai was good at repairing things or building them, he would be more then willing to have an 'invent off'. He has plenty with Anna, and he doesn't use power tools unless required.
Heh, I could see it now. He'd be all 'no way, I can make these blades SO much better then you can' (competitive)
